The FireCurtain FM1 is an automatic fire curtain which seals off an area to contain a fire and to prevent that fire from spreading to other areas.
Lakeside North Harbour
Colt designed, supplied and installed a 17-metre FM1 fire curtain to the newly refurbished Lakeside North Harbour office hub in Cosham, Portsmouth.
During the refurbishment of the business hub at Lakeside North Harbour, Colt were brought in to design, supply and install a 17-metre-long fire curtain to the main foyer area, thereby blocking fire and smoke in the event of a fire. The curtain is controlled by Colt's SKC smart control system, allowing the FM1 to integrate with the smoke control and fire management scheme, with emergency power units and the facility to interface directly with a fire alarm system.
Colt were able to provide a quick turnaround of 7 weeks, which suited the main contractor's time-sensitive schedule. In this instance, Colt's Havant office was also able to provide a quick response due to its proximity to the site.
